Ambassador’s Message
Switzerland firmly believes in the fundamental role of the private sector as an engine for economic growth and economic development.
As such, the private sector forms the backbone of Switzerland’s economic relations with its partner countries.
In Egypt, around 100 Swiss companies and partners represent Swiss values and strengths of innovation, precision and quality.
Switzerland has maintained its position among Egypt’s top ten investors over several years. Moreover, strong investments start with strong trade.
As the gateway to Africa, Egypt represents Switzerland’s most important export market on the continent. These achievements have spurred the creation of thousands of jobs – it is a success we can be proud of. In my previous postings, I had the opportunity to work with excellent chambers of commerce. Their contribution to the promotion of bilateral trade and investment relations is key.
Given the remarkable progress and transformation SwissCham has undergone in recent years, I am confident that the same is true here in Egypt. I look forward to pursuing the close cooperation between the Embassy and SwissCham Egypt.
